Saturday 15th June 5.30-6.00pm
Sunday 16th June 5.30 - 6..00pm
The Rivers Sing is returning to the Birrarung (Yarra) and Maribyrnong rivers. It will meander its way along to link the waterway singing traditions used to sound out messages and listen to natures voice.
It is an audio artwork inspired and composed by Yorta/Yuin soprano Deborah Cheetham with other artists included.
At the lowering of the sun each evening recordings of bird calls and animal noises will be transformed with sound of human voices to rise above Melbourne's city din.
It is a thoughtful and gentle reminder of our human links to nature.
Catch the captivating sounds on the Flinders walk in the Birrarung Marr Riverside Park.
